If you came of age reading the Harry Potter books, Ron Weasley was your imaginary high school boyfriend. Goofy, loyal, not intimidated by smart women and chosen ones, surprisingly good at sports without being a total jock bro about it — Ron Weasley was pretty much the perfect unthreatening man after you graduated from your bad boy Draco Malfoy phase and before you entered your grown-up, look-at-Neville-Longbottom-now phase (currently ongoing). Well, good news: your high school boyfriend is doing okay, and the actor who brought him to life, Rupert Grint, is coming back into the picture: Grint is currently making a pilot for NBC.

The pilot is apparently likely to actually air because the Grint drama got a “put-pilot” order, which means NBC faces penalties if it doesn’t air it. It stars Grint as a comic book aficionado who becomes convinced that the comic his deceased father created is actually real. Grint is a producer on the hour-long drama, as well as its star. Previously, Grint starred in the American pilot Super Clyde, which never actually made it to air.

By the way, Grint is playing a New Yorker in this show — we’ll start taking bets on how good his American accent is now. Maybe I haven’t gotten over my high school boyfriend, because I’m thinking Hugh Laurie-level good — or at least Daniel Radcliffe level.
