Death Row Records founder Suge Knight may soon be finding himself on death row — or at least close to it — after a hit-and-run incident on Thursday left one man dead and another injured.

The hip hop mogul was formally charged with murder on Monday after killing a friend during an altercation on a movie set. Knight’s bail was set at $ 2 million, but a judge revoked it before the charges were filed when the county bail commissioner deemed him to be a flight risk.

Shortly after Knight’s bail was revoked, Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey charged him with murder, attempted premeditated murder and two felony counts of hit and run — one resulting in death and one in an injury.

Knight claims he was called to the set of a promo for N.W.A. documentary “Straight Outta Compton” by pal Terry Carter, who had set up a meeting between Suge and Dr. Dre so the two men could work out their differences over their falling out over their previous partnership in Death Row Records.

He alleges that when he arrived on the set he was jumped by 2-4 men, according to TMZ.com, before he could get out of his truck. As he fled the scene he ran over Carter’s head, killing him, and also an adversary named Cle “Bone” Sloan, who survived.

Knight’s attorney maintains that the music mogul had no idea he ran anyone over, claiming that Knight feared for his life and was just trying to save himself.

Knight, 49, is set for arraignment on Tuesday morning (Feb. 3). If convicted, he faces life in prison.
