When 12-year-old Austrailian Jorja Hope learned that she has a progressive, inner-ear hearing problem that will one day cause her to go deaf, her first reaction was to lament the fact that she “won’t be able to hear Taylor Swift”. Upon hearing this, Taylor Swift decided to give her young superfan a night she will always remember.

Jorja attended Swift’s concert in Sydney Saturday night and got to meet her favorite singer backstage, thanks to a campaign by her twin sister Chloe and a local radio station.

Upon learning of her Jorja’s diagnosis, Chloe started a Facebook group and an online campaign, #HelpJorjaMeetTaylorSwiftSydney to get her sister to the show. Austrailian radio station Nova 96.9 caught wind of the campaign and was able to arrange the meeting.

“It happened tonight, Jorja met Taylor! Chloe you did it!,” the Facebook campaign page posted over the weekend. “Taylor gave Jorja a massive hug!”

Jorja told Austraila’s ‘Today‘ that the meeting was everything she hoped it would be.

“She was very, very amazing and very pretty,” Jorja said. “I didn’t expect her to be as tall as she was.”

This isn’t the first time Swift has gone out of her way to create a memory for a special fan.

Last month, Swift took the time to meet a six-year-old girl who is battling cancer

Cancer is something that Swift is unfortunately too familiar with, as she revealed to fans back in April that her mother is fighting the disease. Since that announcement, Swift has repeatedly gone out of her way to reach out to fans who are battling cancer and other serious problems.

Swift said during an interview in October that she intends to go off the grid for a while after she’s finished with her current tour because she thinks fans need a break from her. While that may be true for some, Jorja Hope and the growing number of other superfans Swift has reached out to will always be grateful to her.
