Welcome back to “The Stakes.” For this episode, we’re going to bring you to Louisiana and Minnesota to talk about the police shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. Coming up:

Part 1: Jane Coaston talks with C. Denise Marcelle, the Democratic representative for Louisiana’s 61st District.
Part 2: Marcus Ellsworth heads to Baton Rouge, where he speaks with Terrie Smith, an undergraduate student at Louisiana State University who has been helping organize student protests in the area.
Part 3: In Minnesota, Ana Marie Cox meets up with Chanda Smith Baker, president and CEO of the community-building not-for-profit Pillsbury United Communities.
Part 4: Producer Michael Catano sits down with Charlene Carruthers, national director of the Black Youth Project 100, an activist organization dedicated to creating justice and freedom for all black people.
Part 5: We head back to LSU to hear from LaKeitha Poole, the assistant director of the school’s Office of Multicultural Affairs, and the Coordinator of African-American Student Affairs at LSU’s African-American Cultural Center.
