Vanessa Hudgens attended the Audience Awards in New York City on Tuesday with stars including Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Matthew Morrison, Helen Mirren, Kristin Chenoweth and Darren Cris.

Hudgens, 26, recently made her Broadway debut with “Gigi” and won “Favorite Breakthrough Performance (Female)” for the role. The play is a more modern musical of the French story in which Gigi blossoms from a naive school girl into a beautiful woman.

The former “High School Musical” star told People magazine, “I’ve never worked this hard before in my life. But it’s so much fun. Whenever I have my day off, I look forward to coming back to the stage and doing it again.”

She added, “Everyone has been so warm, so welcoming. My cast is like my family. I lean on them, I love them.”

When asked what surprised her most about working on Broadway, she said, “It’s a lot of work, doing the same thing over and again, it makes you feel a little crazy at times.”

“Gigi” is playing at the Neil Simon theater.

Hudgens has also appeared in the films “Spring Breakers,” “Sucker Punch” and “Gimme Shelter.” She will play Rizzo in the television special “Grease: Livenext year.
